Our Faith
Seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
Isaiah 1:17
Why "Redeem" International?
We chose the name Redeem because it means “to take something that has been lost, stolen, broken, or destroyed and to pay the price to restore it to all that it was created to be.”
As Christians, we believe in a God of redemption, who is redeeming each of us to himself, and at the same time, inviting us to serve as agents of redemption in a hurting world.
Nowhere is that invitation more clear than in the repeated call of scripture to “care for widows and orphans in their distress.”
Redeem exists to answer that call, serving as kinsman redeemers to some of the world’s most vulnerable widows and orphans.
It is our prayer that our work will serve as a parable, pointing all with ears to hear back to the ultimate redemption story that stretches across the long arc of human history from Genesis to Revelation.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27
Do not move an ancient boundary stone or encroach on the fields of the fatherless, for their Defender is strong; he will take up their case against you.
Proverbs 23:10
